The most-seen advertiser excludes ad-tech click links; topic totals include them. "Advertiser websites" counts distinct click domains, so subdomains and second sites count separately (for example, Optimum's two sites). In beauty, Criteo's click links (1,610 placements) appeared more often than the leading brand, and in fashion (1,260) and consumer electronics (1,006) they came close behind the leader. Each such link can stand for many retailers.
What it means for you: in beauty, IT and automotive the most-seen advertiser holds about 3% of placements or less, so no single advertiser stands out. In travel, education and local services, one advertiser holds more than 16% of the topic's placements.
In some topics the second advertiser was close behind: SoFi had 10.2% of personal finance placements after NerdWallet (13.9%), and Fubo 8.5% of media and entertainment after Rocket Money (8.9%). In insurance, BestMoney (8.7%) and GEICO (6.1%) followed EverQuote (12.5%). In local home services, Thumbtack was second with 7.5%, well behind Angi's 16.4%.

"New to our data" means we had not recorded the advertiser before. Our October collector asked questions in some topics we had not covered before, so part of this number reflects wider coverage, not only advertisers that just started.
4.0% of placements (14,236) used click links run by ad-tech companies: Criteo (8,249), StackAdapt (3,793) and Google's DoubleClick and Search Ads 360 click servers (2,194). One such link can stand for many different advertisers, so we leave them out of the advertiser rankings. Criteo became the first ad-tech partner for ChatGPT ads in March 2026, and StackAdapt joined as a technology partner in May 2026.

In October 2026, OpenAI said that more than 100,000 advertisers have used ChatGPT ads. In the same month, our collector recorded 11,431 different advertisers in the questions we asked.
Our top 100 ChatGPT advertisers ranks the most-seen brands each month, and the advertiser directory lists every advertiser we have captured. For an overview of who is advertising on ChatGPT, by industry, see who advertises on ChatGPT.
Our 20 topics each had between 15,324 and 21,967 ad placements, but those totals mostly reflect how many questions we asked in each topic, so they don't show which industries advertise most on ChatGPT. What differs is how concentrated each topic is: one advertiser held more than 16% of placements in travel, education and local home services, and about 3% or less in beauty, IT and automotive.
In October 2026, the ads we saw most often came from Temu (5,809 placements), Expedia (5,704) and Jotform (4,018). The typical ad was short: the median title was 20 characters and the median description 48. We recorded 95,406 unique ads from 11,431 advertisers.
